Stella Murphy is an artist living and working in London, the city where she was born in 1993. She studied Graphic design at Chelsea College of Art but her practise has always centred on drawing and has since become her primary vocation. She has many influences and would say the most relevant and continually exciting source is from the psychedelic era of the underground press in the 70’s, such as Oz magazine and the artwork surrounding CB Radio Culture. The work during this time often had such an underrated rough and ready quality - something she finds familiar in the backdrop of working in London.
