Tacloban-based artist, Nikko Montilla, has been into traditional painting for several years. He started his career as an artist at a young age by doing still life painting and selling it on sidewalks, he eventually got involved in street art as he grew up in the streets holding skateboarding and surf culture. As technology advances, he started digital art as well. Nikko’s works are influenced by a combination of street art, cartooning, and surrealism. As a typhoon Haiyan (one of the world’s strongest typhoons) survivor, he started making illustrations of protecting mother earth.
